Explore our tips for employers to help their workforce remain healthy during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic

The new Omicron COVID-19 variant adds a new layer of risk for businesses operating in the pandemic, so it’s essential to be as vigilant as possible in encouraging your employees to stay healthy.

Although there’s still much to learn about the Omicron COVID variant, it is clear that it spreads rapidly with the World Health Organization warning Omicron spreads faster than any previous strain. [1] Omicron also has the potential for higher breakthrough cases and to infect people who may have missed earlier variants.

From a business perspective, this creates a large threat to productivity. To help avoid an influx of cases among your workforce, we’ve compiled our best tips for helping your employees remain healthy during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic:

#1: Get vaccinated.

We strongly encourage businesses to look for opportunities to promote COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots, especially for mature employees with a recent report finding that 75% of Americans who died from COVID-19 were 65 years or older. [2]

In addition to getting vaccinated for COVID-19, we also highly recommend that everyone receive the flu shot to cut down on seasonal illness.

#2: Wear a mask.

We encourage everyone to continue masking in public areas where there is a high rate of transmission, regardless of your vaccination status. You can check your county’s transmission rate by using the CDC COVID Data Tracker.
